Travel UP NORTH
There are 2 bus trips per day to Virginia (20 min from Soudan) from the Minneapolis Greyhound Bus Depot. The cost is roughly $44 one way. One bus service is Greyhound
Minneapolis 8:10 am => Virginia 1:20 pm
Virginia 10:40 am => Minneapolis 4:05 pm
and the other service is Lorenz Bus Company
Minneapolis 5:35 pm => Virginia 11:10 pm
Virginia 8:11 am => Minneapolis 1:48 pm

Minneapolis

Minneapolis has a major international airport twenty minutes by car from the University. If you are coming from the Chicago area and like driving it is an eight hour drive to Minneapolis, but flights, if booked well enough in advance, can cost less than $200.

Transportation to Hotels

Several shuttle services are available with discounted rates for round trip tickets to the hotel with return to the airport. Be sure to ask the hotel with which you are making a reservation which shuttle service they recommend for transportation to and from the airport.

A taxi ride from the airport to the University campus and surrounding area is about $25 - $30.

Transit Website can give you bus schedules, routes and the travel planner is even better! For travel from the airport to downtown, hotel shuttles and taxis are definitely faster, but more expensive. To take the bus from airport to downtown (Greyhound Depot), take the 7 to Mall of America and transfer to the 180 express.

Parking: is free parking for registered guests. The Physics building is within walking distance from the hotel, but the hotel also offers a shuttle to the University campus every 30 minutes. City buses also run in front of the hotel.

Parking: is located in a city ramp right next to the hotel. To park and leave your car there without moving it, the cost is $9.50 per 24-hour period. If you will be moving the car in and out of the ramp, you can purchase a parking permit from the hotel for $10.50 per 24-hour period. This will give you unlimited access to the ramp, and will allow you to remove your car from the ramp and park again, without having to pay hourly fees.

Parking: One (1) parking spot per room is available to registered guests. The Physics building is within walking distance from the hotel, but the University's transit way is also two blocks away. From one of these stops, one can take a free Campus Connector bus to campus.
