This Movie displays a potpourri of both simple and complicated surface dynamics on Si (001) at 441K. Some of the simpler dynamics here are several instances of conversions between the four-atom Cross and Tie configurations and a few instances of row growth. One row growth and one Tie-Cross conversion are displayed, along with diagrams in the Gallery. The small islands present on this surface are due to Si deposition. Size= 350 × 350 Å Frame Rate= 1/min.
